I also have NOTHING against eBooks.

I do not own. Found online.

I know I shouldn't post things that aren't mind, mine I just enjoy sharing things with my friends. Feel free to mark as spam or whatever it is you do. If it gets removed, it gets removed, no big loss to me.

Completely agree hon. There's nothing like a good (REAL) book every now and then, even though it is as much fun as it is to research something online.

Doesn't matter. If you read the TOS it says even if you claim that it's not yours, you can't post it. The short and sweet is, if it's not yours, you can't post it here, it can't get any more plain than that.

I totally agree that art theft is wrong, and if you wanna get technical about I'm sure that you're right. This is probably not the place to be posting art that doesn't belong to you, that kind of thing is more for photobucket or a social networking sight. That said, I don't understand why you are responding to all of the comments that basically say they like the picture. If you really have a problem with it report it to DA or confront the artist directly don't bother every single person who leaves a comment because to be honest with you I'm sure most of them don't give a shit about whether or not it should or should not be here. Don't you have something better to do with your time than badger everyone who thinks this is funny?

I am trying to inform them that the piece they are praising is theft, so that praise does not go to the wrong person. And taking two seconds to inform a person that art they are liking is stolen saves them from wasting their time watching that artist, as many people do when they find a piece that they like. I don't consider it badgering, it's not like I'm saying "You're stupid for liking this! You're a terrible person!" I'm just informing them that it's stolen in a pretty civil way.

I'm certainly not trying to say that you are wrong or even trying to imply that what you are doing is by any means hostile, but I think that anyone who would take the time to watch an artist would probably read the description or one of your numerous comments and see that this is not original work. From that point it's up to them to make the decision as to whether or not they decide to watch the person. There is no need to police what this person is doing because I'm sure that at this point everyone is aware that this is not original work, and as I said before informing the people who like the picture is probably not going to make a big difference in the amount of people uploading things that are not theirs to this site.

Members on this site are very naive, they have expectations that when a user posts stuff on this site, they do so because they made the works of art themselves, after all that is what this site is all about, so they fav and watch blindly, most likely not even looking at the artist description, especially something as white and black as this, if it were a more emotional or may have different interpretations then they may look at the description to get more insight into the piece. I used to do the same thing myself, but then became more aware of what I was doing. And actually, in my experience people appreciate being told, because like me, they want the best for this wonderful site.

Get over it, if the person who actually made it stamped a name on it i'm sure she would give full credit for it. I've drawn manga and comic characters Like Dragonball Z and Batman, and posted it here.
I drew them myself but the characters are invented by someone else, it's called fanart and I used the originals to learn drawing and improving my skills. And I'm not the only one on this site. You've also drawn a Miku, a Len and Rin, I don't see no references to the original artists.

If you're going to be a copyright-cop, you've got your work cut out on this site.

Hey, I'm just informing you, it's your choice to do what you will with that information, if you want to support the art theft in aid in the destruction of this site, go on ahead.. But misplacing credit to fan art of incredibly popular characters that took quite a few hours to draw is completely different from just going onto google and saving an image than submitting it to an art site taking a total of 2 minutes. By the way I know on the Miku one I mentioned it was from Vocaloids. Rin and Len I forgot and will fix, that's also a difference between me and this member, I fix my mistakes. You go ahead and keep supporting art thieves, and I'll keep on trying to stop them and informing others that the art is stolen, does that sound fair enough?

Have a nice life, if you ever go out and look in the skies and you see UFO's flying and futuristic buildings, you did not travel into the future, that's how long you've spend time bitchin' on a computer about whose art is whose.

Besides "Vocaloids" is not the artist that created Miku it was the programmer Yu Higuchi that developed it independently for the vocaloid program which was created by Kenmochi Hideki at the Pompeu Fabra University in Spain for the Yamaha Corporation.

If you want to do this job, get your research straight, which will take even more of your free time.

It's copyrighted under vocaloids, so your argument is invalid. And I spend maybe 20 minutes at the most responding to posts, I'm not on the computer all day like you suggest.

It is indeed copyrighted under vocaloids but that does not mean that you credit the artist but the company that makes money of, of him. In fact that's worse cause if you follow your own rules the artist should get the money.

You spend 20 min now at the present, you said you'ld make it your goal to comment on every stolen item or any copy that was not credited. Do you have any idea, how many people are on DA alone? Do you know how many of them make fanart or copy or steal something and forget to credit the original? Or as in this case can't credit it because no artist has claimed it? How many minutes have you wasted in this discussion with me alone ? Can you even grasp how long a similar discussion would take with every "Purpetrator" and the people who defend that "purp"?

If you don't time yourself. (with a Milleniumcalendar:-) )

They paid him for the copyright so he did make money. I never said that I would make an effort to comment on every stolen item. Stop putting words in my mouth to try to make your argument. If I do come across a piece that I find is stolen of course I am going to do something about it. To ignore it and move on is essentially the same as someone robbing a store right in front of you and you doing nothing. You obviously have no idea how this site works. When you post something here you are copyrighting it. If you did not make it, and someone else did, which someone else must have done to bring it into existence , you are stealing that copyright from that person. This site is not photobucket, which is where a piece like this belongs. And all in all over a span of 2 days I've spent maybe five minutes total on you, perhaps at the most 10 minutes, if we include proofreading my posts.

This is not the place for that. Photobucket and sites like that are for sharing images if they aren't yours. This site is meant for sharing your own original art. It says very plainly in the TOS, if you didn't make it, you can't post it, even if you do point out the fact that it's not yours. I can't believe this site is falling into this sort of shit.

Yay art theft!!!! So fahny... Seriously, take this shit down. If you want to share stuff you found around the web, there are plenty of image sharing sites. This is an ART sharing site, meaning if you didn't make it, you can't post it. If you get three reports on you and they are confirmed, then you'll be banned and your gallery will be removed, so yeah, no big loss. The less art thieves on here, the better.

Art theft is running rampant these days, it's absolutely ridiculous, and she had no right to call our bringing attention to the fact it's stolen as "Spam" While she's taking valuable space that a real artist could have.

No. That's bullshit, if you read the terms of service it says very clearly that it isn't allowed, even if you do say it wasn't your work. There are people who work long and hard to make their works that they submit here in hopes that their work will get the recognition it deserves on the front page, but when people start posting work that they spent 3 minutes finding online then posting on here the attention that those other artists deserve gets taken away. And as I said, if they want to share pieces they find around the internet there are plenty of sites to do so, there are so few art sites and cancer like this user are ruining those sites. And defending an art thief makes you just as bad as them.

Your friend is a thief. Glad we could clear that up. There is no argument, when you are a member of a site like this, you have to follow the rules. Without these rules, this site would become just like photobucket, which is a site your friend could have used instead of clogging up our lovely site with shit you could find anywhere on the web.

Coor Blimey you need to calm down. Yes I get art Theft is a Bitch. Being a Photographer myself I worry constantly that my work will get stolen. But if i had come up with something as simple as the image up there. Really wouldnt be bothered. An Image like that was meant to be spread around the internet, purely becuase its funny. If this was a picture of the Mona Lisa then Id be reporting with you. I do think you are getting way too frustrated with this particular one. I mean have you had a go at all the other people that have left comments and faved, simply becuase it was funny and maybe made their day a bit more fun?
As for rules, Pfft, They were made for breaking once in a while.

Its so much easier to dramatically slam the book shut when you finish it, then to gently place the kindle on the table and press the power button.

As for throwing it, it depends on wether or not I liked the ending. I would much prefer to throw the book, but kindles are not so resistant...

Neither are water proof though
